“To be motivated we must be self-confident, we must believe in ourself, because faith in oneself, faith in others and faith in God, will move mountains in every walk of life …”
There are many values to move forward in our life. The most important is self-motivation. Self-motivation is the key to happiness and success in life. It has two dimensions one related to our mind. It prompts us to think where we want to go and what we want to do. The other is related to our action. It goads us to act and to achieve what we desire. To be motivated we must be self-confident. We must believe in ourself because faith in oneself, faith in others and faith in God will move mountains in every walk of life. It helps us to develop a positive attitude. Self-motivated persons determine their goals and act strongly to achieve them. The impossible is made possible by their strong determination.
The past two weeks the rains, the floods and landslides have been hitting our state and it is still a nightmare in everyone’s mind. Be it young or old, everyone did they part in helping Kerala when she was being hit mercilessly. The fishermen became the unsung heroes for their spontaneous reactions effort and valor. Everyone had a word of praise for them all around the world. The outpour of relief supplies and coordination of rescue operations rose to a size that our state had never seen before. Here I take the opportunity to throw light on the two young lady IAS officers who have done everything they could within their power. People were rescued from their homes and taken to safer shelters. They were given food, medicine, and proper care with their proper guidance and prompt decisions.TV Anupama and Dr.K.Vasuki IAS Officers of Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram worked hard to see their districts were safe. They did an exemplary job to set up control rooms and assist teams to channelize the overflowing supplies to the needy and to the proper destinations.
There was a time when a common man getting close to a district collector was unimaginable. Only panchayat presidents or someone who was confident enough to converse in English could meet the district collector. Now the scenario has changed the young officers make it a point to interact with ordinary people Facebook the most famous social media has become the biggest platform where the public interact with the district collector. The most interesting fact is almost every District Collector has a huge fan following. Even kids from school, interact with the District Collector.
TV Anupama is a popular officer known for her bold steps against corruption. An electronic engineering graduate. She got 4th rank in civil services, she was always a bright in her academics and a rank holder all along her milestones in education. She was ready to tackle the faults in the system. As Food Safety Commissioner, she conducted many raids across the state. Took food adulterators and banned several products and several popular brands. High level of adulteration and use of pesticides in vegetables and fruits from neighboring states triggered a Health Food campaign in Kerala. We owe a lot to this young efficient officer for popularising organic farming. When she became the collector of Alappuzha, she proved her mettle. when she handled the crisis during the cyclone Ochi. Her able administration and proper rehabilitation to the affected people played a crucial role in bringing back many missing fishermen. Her firm stand on her reports against former Transport Minister on encroachment and conversion of land in violation of the Kerala conservation of paddy land and wetland was noticed by everyone. And that resulted in the high court to file a case against him. She has won praise by launching Sevana Sparsham a hunger-free district project to provide quality food free of cost to the needy at least once a day. Its been two months since she joined the office in Thrissur when the floods struck bad. The herculean task of coordinating the rescue operations, relief supplies and handling even the panic situations was ably monitored. She had ordered the BAR Association to lend space to store relief supplies. She made a prompt decision when a major confusion arose at the BAR Association building. She broke open the locks of two rooms so that essential supplies could be stored. The collector’s move was praised by everyone.
Dr. Vasuki has always been an inspiration and a popular officer. A doctor who always wanted to do something good for the society. She secured 97th rank in her civil services. As director of Kerala Suchwita Mission. Her priorities were sanitation, environment etc. She implemented the green protocol and plastic ban.Dr.Vasuki played a major role in collecting and dispersing the relief supplies at Thiruvananthapuram. Even though the district wasn’t hit as the other districts. In two days she collected 54 truckloads of materials and send it around all parts of the district and beyond. She kept cheering the volunteers and the crowds at the camp. She kept boosting them and praised them for staying together and helping to channelize in sending the relief measures to destinations where it was needed. she compared them to a huge army who were fighting for freedom.
Women can endure more pain, stress and hardships both mentally and physically.A womans mind is sharp and grasps better. It helps them with their jobs and families. That helps them to multi task better.A woman with a sharp mind and multi tasking abillity helps her take more roles on herself and she becomes more empowered with her own accomplishments. We are lucky to have such smart and daring Lady Officers who could make quick desicions and make things happen at the hour of need..If we have friendly and motivating officers like them it could boost up the courage and morale of every average common man or people in such situations.
