Every parent is anxious about their kids. Especially when they reach their turning point in their lives. I too am a mother of two kids, and when they were completing school, I too was anxious about their future. I waited in anticipation when the results were to be published. We parents do expect a lot from our children. We rejoice when they score higher than expected and feel dejected when they fare below our expectations. Its all in the game. The results will be out in a week or two. As usual, the children who have completed their High School and Plus Two are waiting for their results in anticipation. Children who are waiting to choose their careers are waiting for their entrance results too.
I would like to share a personal thought of mine with you. About education and its value on our present generation. A good schooling, a good degree, a good diploma in some craft – one of these things means education for most of us. Does education mean the same to you? Children heave a sigh of relief when they pass school or college. Because they end up with enough certificates that they use as a passport for a good job. To most young men, education is the means of getting a job. And for the young women, it means a better prospect of finding a good husband. Do you agree with that?
The history of the world can be written in a word “Change”.The world is moving and we cannot be certain of anything. Everything is on the move. It is up to us to move with the times. The change should be for the better. Success has always a price. The more you pay the richer it makes you, the harder you work the happier you become. The ability to focus on one thing till you see through it until its done takes more character than anything else.”Strive hard to achieve your goals and believe in yourself and in what you want. Because self-motivation is the mental determination and it will achieve what you want.” you work and you win, you shirk and you lose. It’s simple as that.
Education is a process of preparing a person to use personal capabilities buried deep within each one. There should be a strong desire to learn. The greater your interest in the subject, the sooner you will master it. The deeper you study, understanding the subjects, the better your performance. Successful students have an inquisitive mind, they are confident of their ability. They are genuinely interested in their work. Real education comes from a personal effort made in the right direction. One can start education at any time in life provided one is willing to learn and continues to persevere. There is no reason why one cannot develop personal capabilities of the highest level. Education must be balanced to promote both physical and emotional development which enables a person to face the challenges of everyday life. It helps us secure a stable and promising future. Education plays a vital role in women empowerment. It helps us make wise decisions. It helps us realize our dreams. It gives us the confidence to express our views and opinions.
I would like to bring to notice a small story of a dear friend of mine. She was settled in a well to do family and was in her mid 40’s. She was a well educated and a talented woman. She was a homemaker and a mother of three children. Her kids were grown up and she had ample time on her hands. She was a creative woman, so she made up her mind to learn something that could help her bring out her creativity. She was determined to strive hard and make her dream come true. In spite of all the hurdles, she had to meet while learning She completed it and proved to be a successful woman. Age is never a bar for education.
A progressive person knows that education is an ongoing process and. good education aims at developing a complete person. I believe that education must be used to build oneself. A correct attitude towards the vital aspect of life will help one to go ahead successfully.
