Movie Title: Ee Ma Yau
Director: Lijo Jose Pulissery
Cast: Vinayakan, Chemban Vinod, Dileesh Pothan
The story revolves around the fishermen of Chellanam. A movie that depicts a sudden demise of the head of the family and the incidents following it. Death is the central theme
The story is set in the coastal area, Vavachan Mesthri(Kainakary Thankachan) is on his way home. He does have a scuffle with one of his friends. His wife Pennamma (Pouly Valasan) Eeshi (Chemban Vinod) and the rest of the family are happy to have him back after a long gap. As the women are busy preparing dinner, Eeshi and his father have drinks and share a few dreams. But his father falls and dies. The movie takes a turn from that point. The events depicted are almost real and practical. The anxiety, the confusions that the characters portray is as if it was happening to us in real life instead of the reel life. The circumstances of the sudden death raise suspicion. Panchayat member Ayappan (Vinayakan) takes the initiative to solve the issues. The Vicar Fr.Zacharias(Dileesh Pothan) and his doubts bring about a lot of commotion.
Moreover, Shyju Khalid’s brilliant visual effects give a new rustic look. The viewer gets the feeling that he is amidst the people of the house. Director Lijo has tried yet another theme and his way of presentation is superb as always.
The main highlight of the movie is the performances of the actors. Chemban Vinod has played his character well. It is one of his best roles he has done so far. Vinayakan has proved that he is versatile, he has come a long way from the villain and the bad guy that he portrayed in most of the movies. His character does bring in a humorous and emotional touch. Pauly Valsan has played her emotions naturally. Dileesh Pothan too has done his role convincingly. A lot of character artists have contributed in their own way. On the whole, everyone has done a perfect job.
Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Personally, I feel its a must watch movie. Do watch it as this movie takes you through all the incidents that happen in a normal house in the coastal area. It portrays how death brings out the various colors and emotions in life.
