“A teacher is like a candle which lights others in consuming itself. ”
Teachers are a significant part of everyone’s life. They show us the right path and groom us to become a better citizen and a better person. They teach us to face the most difficult challenges of life and get through them. Teacher’s day is celebrated to pay tribute to teachers who have dedicated a considerable part of their life to impart moral and academic knowledge to their students. Although teachers are not born but made they are considered special people created by God for the betterment of humanity. They are regarded as the reservoir of knowledge, love, and compassion. The best teachers known to the world are not popular for being the reservoir of knowledge but also for the commitment while in service. Teacher’s Day is the occasion especially dedicated to all those people who have devoted their time towards the betterment of their students both academically and ethically.
Teachers help to build a clever and intelligent society and play a huge part in nation building. They are the people who build the foundation of the career of the students. Teachers do teach us lessons about life. We Indians believe that teachers are our second parents because they are the ones who show us the path to success. We celebrate Teacher’s Day to honor the selfless contribution of all teachers in our lives who have helped shape the future of countless students and their future.
This week I thought of writing on Teacher’s Day because I am dedicating this weeks blog of mine to the three beloved sisters of my family. I hail from a family of teachers, my grandfather was a humble man who had six children. He had three girls, he educated them and made them teachers. They were dedicated to their teaching profession. They were brilliant teachers and friends to their students. Every student whom they taught had the freedom to meet them and clear their doubts. I still do remember how every student turned out to be their friend. They became their students’ mentors’ and guides. The students found guidance, friendship discipline and love in them. The three sisters had a fiery spirit in them which made them motivate and inspire their students. They were three strong and powerful women in their own way who added value in everyone’s life that they came across. This is a humble tribute to my dear mama and her two sisters who were teachers and friends to their students. The Teaching legacy has continued for three generations because of them.
Wealth and fame are not a teachers gain for the lives they touch, the good they do will never know an end. A teacher is like a candle which lights others in consuming itself. Teachers are everything. They are our mentor, leader instructor guide inspiration and above all a good friend.
